Financing options for breast implants-

As you can see, the cost of breast implants can be very expensive.  Also, it is important to understand that breast implant surgery is not covered in insurance.  So make sure that you have enough saved up to get the procedure you are looking to get done.  Most doctors also have a financing option if you wish to go this route, but it may not be guaranteed.  Be sure to ask your doctor so that you know what options are available to you.

What happens during breast implant Surgery?

Breast implant surgery is a sort of augmentation procedure where the doctor goes in and places either a silicone or saline breast implant into the breast.  The procedure usually takes between 1 and 2 hours and is usually an outpatient procedure.  Recovery time is usually between one and two weeks and it often is recommended to take at least three weeks before doing any heavy lifting.

Am I a Good Candidate?

Most women are able to physically handle getting breast implants.  However, this question is more of a psychological one.  Do you feel comfortable with the size of your breast?  Are you fine the way that clothes fit you around the bust line? If the answers to this are no, then you are probably a good candidate for breast implant surgery.

Things to Consider When Getting Breast Implant Surgery

  • Saline vs Silicone- So which should you go for- saline or silicone?  Well it all depends upon your preference.  The initial look of both saline and silicone are about the same.  However each has positives and negatives.  Saline implants can go through a much smaller incision (2 centimeters versus 4 ½ centimeters or more with a silicone implant.
  • They are also harmless if they break inside of you.  They also cost about half as much as silicone implants. However, the feel of saline implants is not the same as the feel or normal breasts.
  • On the other hand, silicone implants take less skill to put in and have a much more natural look and feel to them.  However, they are more expensive and can cause major complications if they break and leak.  On top of this, they are cost about twice as much as saline implants.
  • There are other things to consider besides silicone or saline implants when looking at the costs of breast implants.  You also have to look at the reputation of the doctor, and the qualifications of the institution that you plan on doing your procedure.  Make sure you research all of these areas before making a final decision on who will perform you surgery.
